There are 2 Sean Robbins’ that live in Portland, Oregon. One is myself. But we will first introduce my namesake.

Former CEO of Greater Portland Inc

Sean Robbins is the former chief execustive of Greater Portland Inc., a public-private partnership focused on increasing the vitality of the Portland-Vancouver region. He became the CEO in August 2011.

Currently, he has a different position as Executive Vice President, External Affairs at Bluecross Blueshield (BCSBS). It’s a national federation of 35 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies. According to their website, one in three Americans are currently covered by the Blue System.

Sean Robbins was the ideal candidate for this position, thanks to his earlier experience in Portland, Oregon. There he has led two community development organizations as CEO. He also supported two governors in building Oregon’s statewide economic development strategy.

He served Oregon Governors John Kitzhaber and Kate Brown as director of the Oregon Business Development Department. Another position he had was as the CEO of Greater Portland Inc, a public-private economic development corporation comprised of the region’s leading elected officials and business leaders.

Although he spend a lot of time in Oregon, he’s actually a Wisconsin native. He earned a business degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. He enjoys hiking, fly fishing, skiing and visiting our national parks with his wife and two sons. Currently, they live together in Boise, Idaho.
